Tired of the stall

Recommended Posts

I'm a little stressed out because my doctor says I need to loose 20 lbs by 12/7. I was sleeved 10/8. Smh. Stupid PCOS is messing me up. I've been at 209 for 3 weeks. Smh,

Just blowing off steam.

I'm with you. Currently in a stall as well, known as the dreaded "3rd week stall." I was sleeved 10/16. Things are still changing as clothes are fitting differently. I'm sticking to the plan and know that one day (hopefully very soon), the stall will break and the scale will move in the direction we all expect it to. Stay the course and believe.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will stay the course. Are you able to eat salad? Or are you just doing Protein Shakes and broth?

Thanks @arringtonc49 for the advice. I'm getting the recommended Water and Protein, and will increase my exercise to see if we can break it!

Increase Water and Protein and exercise. It will help break stall.
Whenever I did this I notice it broke stall.
I am 8 months post op and at my goal or really below my goal weight.
I have lost 97 lbs.

Yeah, stalls suck. Don't worry about it though. If you are sticking to your plan, you will break it pretty soon. Normally, I have accelerated weight loss for a least a week afterward. I lost nothing on week three, then five or six pounds on week four. Same thing happened at week seven after a stall at week six, and is happening this week after a stall on week eleven.

I haven't stalled for more than a week so far. At the end of a stall week, I try to increase my Protein and calories a bit. I still exercise, but take it down a notch. I think that this combination helps me to break them. I will tell you what a bodybuilder that i know told me not too long ago. If you want to lean up and keep your metabolism revved up, you must consume more calories one day per week if you are restricting your calories. He thinks that this keeps your body from going into starvation mode. I agree, although more calories for me might be only 1-200 more calories. At around 1,000 calories, it is hard to think that you are breaking out of that. It seems to work though.

As a side note, it also sucks to have your doctor placing a weight loss goal on you like that. It seems that he/she might be setting you up to fail. I had surgery in Mexico, and never had to worry about someone telling me how much I should have lost at any period of time. I guess that is how it might be done here in the states though. I say this, because I read every day how people here feel as though they aren't losing fast enough. They are discouraged. I tell them that everyone is different, and they will lose at their own pace. Everyone tells them that. Now, I see why people might worry.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully, you will be on the other side of this stall really soon.

It happens. The stalls suck but they pass. I had to increase my calorie intake by 100 calories and continue to exercising but increasing the intensity.

I was fluctuating between 196 and 194 for 1 month. This month already I am down to 192.

I currently intake 1,000 calories a day with an additional 100 - 200 calories on HIIT and weight lifting days.

I am 6 weeks out and I stalled at the 3rd and 4th week. I was flipping out! However, during the 5th week I lost 10 lbs and this last week I've lost 12. It's craziness I tell you. Yesterday alone I lost 4 lbs, but think it was Water weight seeing how I was a little swollen. I also agree with an above post about having a higher calorie day. It keeps your body from getting used to the same thing day in and day out. When I used to do Weight watchers I would have a high point day and it would help with stalls.

Thank you! I did feel discouraged after he told me to lose the weight by 12/7. My body is different. I lost 30lbs the first 6 weeks and barely anything else going into my second 6 weeks. Smh

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
