Sprinkles1 358 Posted November 2, 2017 *sorry, 1st post*So I'm wondering how long the process is for BCBS in order to get the surgery. Right now I have Cigna but next year my job is switching to BCBS. I asked the Doc & he said Cigna takes 4+ months but BCBS takes 2+ months. The checklist they gave me seems easy enough to get done. Do you have BCBS? How long did it take you to get your surgery? 2 months seems too easy. I don't want to get my hopes up. LawGal 0 Posted December 22, 2017 I have BCBS of IL but its ***. Based on your BMI and co-morbities, you may need to do 6 month of prior weight loss first. I am just finishing it all up. The ins covered my reg MD, psychologist, and nutritionist appts except for all the co-pays. It all helped. Learned a lot about nutrition and about me. It's prepared me for the lifestyles changes for post surgery where some others have to crash course it before surgery. So, don't look at it as a bad thing. I lost 31 lbs these 6 mons. Now I just have to wait for the submission for approving surgery, which should b soon!
