I took 2 weeks I am a classic over doer and this time I absolutely refused to do that to my body so I took two grand weeks off I swore I would read and watch movies and I mainly drooled and walked around it was amazing

Surgeon put me out for 6 weeks, I only used 5 weeks. A few of my incisions refused to heal so I was grateful for the extra time.

Good question. I'm giving myself a week, but I work from home and only 3 days a week. We'll see...

I said I was going back in 2 weeks, which would be Monday, but my surgeon said 4 weeks. Thankfully he did that because there’s no way I can handle going back on Monday. I’m looking at probably having my gallbladder out next week, so I’ll be out the 4 weeks for sure.

3 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks I felt fine and like I could go back then - but at the beginning of week 3 I had some minor issues (fatigue, some food intolerances) that made me glad I had the third week.

I work from home, 5 days/40 hours a week on a desk - but concentration and focus would have been lacking that third week.

My surgery is Dec. 5th and I’m going back the 13th for a few days and then have another week off around Christmas. I do home daycare and unfortunately can’t afford to take much time off, I’m only taking back the older kids at first who are self sufficient and I don’t have to lift. I wish I could take more time off but I will manage

My surgeon wrote me off for 4 weeks but I only took 3. I was so bored by the end of 3 weeks and I needed to be back in my normal routine.

GB surgery was 10/27, and today was my first day back at work. I was one of the lucky ones with no complications or bad pain after surgery, so that amount of time off was just right. I do work sitting at a desk in front of a computer all day though, so 9 work days/13 total days was enough for me. Glad to be back amongst the living haha I was running out of Netflix to watch.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
