faithmd 14 Posted November 22, 2007 Try allnurses.com and then look in the Travel nurse forum or agency nurses forum (I think they have one), there's LOADS of good info there! Good Luck! I didn't tell a soul at work, I can't imagine the constant well-meaning questions about how much have I lost or what am I eating or should I be eating that. HHWALJ 0 Posted November 23, 2007 Hi. Glad to see so many nurses. I'm scheduled for band on Dec. 18, 2007. I'm so nervous to have it done so close to the holidays.
tpagern 2 Posted November 24, 2007 thanks! I am thinking of adding to my salary with a little bit of agency work. I am still dealing with a new tightness after the second fill and (slight unfill). This is what I thought the band would feel like. I really have to sip, sip, sip, and chew chew chew. My hunger is much less too. Love it.

wannabhealthy 0 Posted November 24, 2007 I also just happen to be a Nurse. Began as an ICU Nurse, and for the last 21 years work Long Term Care. Currently ADON at a great facility. I should be banded by April 08, and am very excited at the possibility of increased energy, and perhaps enjoy for once Clothes shopping!!!
moonrider 0 Posted November 24, 2007 I am not a nurse,I am a nurse aide CENA,and I know with out us alot of nurses would be swamped with more than you have now.I give alot of you nurses alot of credit.I would not want the pressure that is given some times to you. Most of the nurses I work with trust me and have me do as much for them as I can.I am having my surgery in January and I can't wait.I have every one making me worried and telling things like.....you know people have died from that.So wish me luck. wannabhealthy 0 Posted November 24, 2007 Dear Moonrider, The CNA's have a very difficult job, I respect them for all they do, often with little respect, and certainly not enough monetary compensation. I wish you success and may be worth remembering...don't do anything about excessive weight, and it is most certainly a premature death due to all the complications that will eventually "get ya". TXbandit 4 Posted November 24, 2007 We nurses know the CNAs do the hardest work THANKS for all you do....Just wait 'til your co-workers see you flying down the halls with tons of energy!
kaninag 35 Posted November 24, 2007 Before I started nursing school i worked as a CNA...IT IS DEF HARD WORK!!!!
sfeiner 2 Posted November 26, 2007 I agree. What would nurses do without CNAs? A lot more running and lifting and clea-ups, that's for sure/ I've been a cna, an lpn and an rn. cna is the hardest. I' also an EMT. So I take my hat off to CNAs of the world.
