November sleevers here

Recommended Posts

Yup you are a November sleever LOL What a difference around the world with the "diet" and even all over the USA. I will be on liquids ONLY for 3.5 weeks. Then I will be on puree foods for 3 weeks, then soft foods for 3-4 weeks and then start small meals. So your puree potatoe and cottage cheese that you ate after a week, I cannot have for 3.5 weeks. Though I will like the full liquid diet so much better than this clear liquid diet. At least full liquid has Protein Drinks which fill you up. Course I have not been sleeved yet. Two days. Thanks for sharing your story. I think all of us "pending" are curious and even nervous about what to expect. Everyone's experience is so different. Continued good luck to you!!!

Question...for those that have had the surgery already and those that are close. Does your surgeon put a Scopolamine patch behind your ear before surgery? My dr does. I've used these before for air and sea sickness. I wonder if he does it because of the nausea?

Yes. My doctor put one on while they were prepping me for surgery and I was allowed to remove it after 48 hours with strict disposal and hand wash instructions.

Well.... Not right away. I threw up twice in the recovery room. But, I had no nausea after that.

I know right! But at least there was no nausea after I left the recovery room.

Sleeved on Nov. 1.

Recovery room was rough and I threw up a couple times. After that I was wheeled to a room and slept for several more hours. All total I slept 12 hours post op. People kept talking to me but I was so out of it. I don't remember my husband kissing me and going home for the night.

I finally woke up at 9pm and drank some chicken broth and walked 2 miles in laps around my ward. Sipped Water. Then I konked back out.

I was up every 45 minutes going pee all night long.

Woke up the next day (today) and felt great. Walked over 4 miles throughout the day waiting for hubby to pick me up at 5p. The staff was calling me marathoner. I inspired other patients to get up and walk with me.

I had a small cup of yogurt and some tomatoes Soup and a premier chocolate shake throughout the day.

Good luck to all three other November sleevers.

Wow . That’s amazing . Glad you seem to be doing so well . I hope to feel this way after . My surgery is 11/10 - 4 more days . Did they give you that Protein Shake at the hospital or did you pack your preference?

They provided me the meals that I was allowed. I did have to add a packet of Splenda to that yogurt because it was plain and gross and I poured the shake over ice to thin it a little. For lunch I got a bowl of Tomato Soup. [emoji106]

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
