RachelHackney 11 Posted November 6, 2017 Im having my surgery where I work too (im an RN in the OR) So im just gonna be straight forward about it. I told the people im really close with, and that way its not going to be much of a secret or suprise when I actually go through with it. From experience I find secrets tend to come out I agree with you. I have let a few coworkers know. 1 of the girls in ER registration will be having it 2 days before me & her boss has had the surgery too & one of my coworkers has had the duodenal switch. So I feel okay telling them but I didn’t want it to spread like wildfire when I don’t even have an exact surgery date (surgeon says “we are aiming for December 20th). Haha. Do you have a surgery date?

xLosty 13 Posted November 8, 2017 I'm 24 looking for others my age who are either considering having vsg or have had vsg what has your experience been like and would you do it over Hey there! I’m 23 and upcoming Monday will be exactly 5 months since I got sleeved. My entire life I’ve been overweight/struggling with my weight. I was just tired of it so I thought I’d inform myself on WLS. Therefore, I went to my doctor to get his opinion on it and his recommendations. He completely supported my decision and even motivated me to go further with this. However, it wasn’t an easy decision for me. Isn’t it a bit drastic removing so much of my stomach? Shouldn’t I try again on my own one more time? Will I still be able to have a “normal” life? Go out and have drinks? etc etcWell, I’ve been 5 months out and haven’t regretted it a single day. I’ve got more energy, have already lost over 60 lbs and I’m starting to get my life back. I can eat and drink everything, just in moderation ofcourse. I still forget from time to time how little food it actually takes for me in order to feel full, while before it seemed like I had a bottomless stomach, it’s crazy! However, as you’ve probably already read a couple of times, it’s an operation on your stomach, not your head (unfortunately). So I’m also working together with a psychologist to get my issues with food under control and improve myself. A lot of people say they wish they had done this surgery sooner after they’ve finally had it. Well, I’m happy I didn’t do it sooner, because I wouldn’t have been in the right mindset. I probably would have treated this surgery as another one of my attempts that would probably fail anyway. When I went into this surgery, I knew this was my last resort because I literally had already tried everything. Therefore, I took this very seriously, grabbed this opportunity with both hands. And to answer your last question. I’d do it over in a heartbeat [emoji1373].I wish you the best of luck and if you have any more questions or if you want to talk, I’d be happy to help! cgonz07 6 Posted November 10, 2017 I'm 23 and get my sleeve on Monday. Currently on my pre-op diet. So far I'm a little over Protein Shakes but still feel good and determined to succeed. Since the first day I decided I was going to do this, I started trying to train and slightly better my relationship with food. Eating until I was satisfied, rather than full kinda thing. Paying attention to my body as much as I could. Would be happy to update you real time over the next few days on how the process is going if that'll be of any help to you:) best of luck!Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

X My head feels operated on. I've noticed alot feel this way. Like I'm able to sit at macdonald while my family eat and not want to order anything. When I used to go drive through on my own and order 4 meals to myself lol.many other examples. But I am a different human all together.
