DropWt4Life 957 Posted November 1, 2017 I think that guys pant sizes are smaller now that they were even 15 years ago. Every pair of pants that I owned was baggy fit. Now, everything is slim fit, straight fit or regular fit. If you are lucky, you can find a relaxed fit. Anyway, I wore a 44 baggy fit loosely or a 44 straight fit snugly at 6'2" and 326 pounds. This was in my old jeans. I refused to purchase new jeans, because new 44s were too tight on me, and I wasn't going to shop at the big and tall store. Now, at 244 pounds, I wear a 36 straight fit or 38 slim fit comfortably. I started out with a 3X shirt, and now I wear a 2X shirt. 1 Travelher reacted to this

Or more following your diet? I'm going through my first week on the liquid diet and I'm just curious to know how much weight I'll lose the first couple months. Totally understand everyone's body is different but just wondering! I've actually worked out officially very little, but my energy is up (after the initial recovery, and due to the initial weight loss) so I am moving around more and doing more! It's mainly just diet and the wonderful honeymoon period post-op! Congrats! 2 jessgnc and CamillaCallie reacted to this

GBLady41 393 Posted November 2, 2017 I’m 5’7” and my heaviest weight was 298 and I wore size 22ish. I had mini gastric bypass on 12/12/16. I am now 138 and wear size 4-6. I figured I would be able to wear a size 6 or 7 but a size 4? I can wear my daughter’s clothes!!! 3 LaLaDee, CrowMilk and Rainbow_Warrior reacted to this
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted November 2, 2017 My highest size was like a 28 or 30W. I think when I had surgery I must have been around 26W. My lowest post weight loss size was a 2. That is artificially small for me (typical to lose low and then regain some back to a normal). A good healthy pant size for me is about a 6. Sizes are WAY bigger than they used to be.... I wore a 10 when I was in college and I was slim.

I think I FINALLY figured out what size I am. Then last week I went to the store and instead of 12,14,16,etc it was going "32,35,36,etc" MAKE UP YOUR MIND. I swear to god...guys get the easy measurements. Can we either switch over to that system or find a universal size where a size X is ALWAYS that size? Also, to your original point: I'm a size 12/14 right now (WHAAAT!?!) at 200. I was a size 14/16 all through high school when I weighed about 185. Weight loss is weird. 1 njgal reacted to this

readytolose727 55 Posted November 12, 2017 I know, I know, the sizes shouldn't matter, really. But I'm curious where everyone who has gotten to goal has rounded out, size-wise, compared to where you started. I started at a size 28 and am 3 months post-op. I've lost around 78 lbs. and am down to a size 18; these size 18s are starting to get loose. I am astounded constantly by this turn of events because I was definitely not a size 18 at 240 lbs. on the way up! It's so interesting how bariatric bodies are different from normal ones! So where did you finish up in sizes? At this rate, I may blow my dream 'size 10' out of the water!I was sleeved 9/25 SW 261 size 16CW 212 size
Rainbow_Warrior 996 Posted November 12, 2017 I know if I buy a Russell Athletic or Hanes T-shirt in the USA, I buy a US XXXL or 3XL size. The same two companies sell the same actual shirts with the same chest and waist sizes in Australia as XXXXXL or 5XL. We here in AUS are trailing the US in obesity levels but only just. This is how VANITY SIZING works ... the mind of a 3XL wearer is saying, 'hey, i'm a big guy but at least i'm not a 4XL or 5XL.' 1 Berry78 reacted to this
CrowMilk 96 Posted November 13, 2017 I started at 299 and had VSG on 12/21/16 and was a size 18. I am now at 175, 16 lbs from goal, and wear size 13 skinny jeans.I am a little bummed I am not smaller in size, but I have bigger legs from squats and leg presses, so I'm not too sad about it. I can almost wear my husband's 30/32 pants, just can't button yet so that's something!

The New Kel 1,312 Posted November 17, 2017 I was in a size 20-22 pants on day of surgery, (220lbs), size 1x tops. Now, at 135lbs I wear a size 6 -8, ( depends on the brand) in pants and slacks, (size 4 in Old Navy Jeans). I wear a small in tops and sweaters. Belts: I fond this to be the most amazing regarding my size shrinkage- I went from not being able to find a belt that fits, to now getting small ones, 28 inches. Blows my mind. Shoes: was a 9.5 wide, now a 9 regular. Ring sizes shrank from 9.5 to 8. Hmmmm, I guess I better ask my husband for a new ring for xmas 1 angyplus5 reacted to this
laceemouse 631 Posted November 17, 2017 I started in a size 20, am now wearing a size 2 or xs. I thought a size 6 was ambitious when i was starting. Where do you shop? I have a hard time even finding 6's in stores, I never see 4's or 2's. That's one of the reasons I am trying to stop losing. How tall are you? Maybe those smaller sizes are easier to find in petites but I am 5'6" so not petite. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app
