passion4film 44 Posted October 28, 2017 I know, I know, the sizes shouldn't matter, really. But I'm curious where everyone who has gotten to goal has rounded out, size-wise, compared to where you started. I started at a size 28 and am 3 months post-op. I've lost around 78 lbs. and am down to a size 18; these size 18s are starting to get loose. I am astounded constantly by this turn of events because I was definitely not a size 18 at 240 lbs. on the way up! It's so interesting how bariatric bodies are different from normal ones! So where did you finish up in sizes? At this rate, I may blow my dream 'size 10' out of the water! 4 Sharpie, BusyMom945, Santoreone and 1 other reacted to this

I don't know how long ago your "way up" was but that's something to consider. My wedding was 22 years ago and I have a size 12 dress I wore that day (going away dress). I wear a 4 in today's sizing and while that size 12 dress is too big, it's only about two sizes too big not four. 4 WhtWdUGive620, njgal, mamamac2 and 1 other reacted to this

Or more following your diet? I'm going through my first week on the liquid diet and I'm just curious to know how much weight I'll lose the first couple months. Totally understand everyone's body is different but just wondering! 1 WhtWdUGive620 reacted to this
shedo82773 1,236 Posted October 28, 2017 Hi ya, I weighed in at 249#'s, on July 2, 2013. I had my RNY. I wore stretchy pants but I was in a size 22 or 24 my tops were a size 3XL. Now I weigh 125 to 130#'s and wear a size med shirt and a size 8 to 10 in Levi jeans!!! At one time around 3 years before my RNY I got up to 285#'s but managed to lose to 249 and stopped there for a couple years. I did have Strictures and needed 5 ENdoscopes with 4 dilations. They suck but it was a quick fix. BTW I got to my goal weight in 6 months. Even with eveything that happened, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Good Luck with whichever surgery you decide on!! 1 SeaSounders♥ reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted October 28, 2017 sizing in women's clothes is all over the board. I wear a 10 or a 12, depending on the manufacturer. A lot also depends on your shape and frame size. There are lots of women on these and other boards my height and weight who can wear a 6 or an 8. Either it's vanity sizing, or it might be frame size. I have a large frame. No way I could get into a 6 or an 8.

I've got a ways to go since I just got sleeved a week ago. Wearing a size 20. Sent from my SM-J327T using BariatricPal mobile app
Apple1 2,572 Posted October 29, 2017 I was a size 18 at 255 and I am a size 8 at 159. I am pretty sure I will be in a size 6 at 155. I wear medium tops now and a 3x then. 2 BusyMom945 and DropWt4Life reacted to this
Clementine Sky 708 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) I'm not sure of the exact jeans / trousers size I was wearing when I had the VSG because they'd become so uncomfortably tight I started wearing skirts and dresses instead (in an XL). The highest size I ever owned was a 14, but I could barely squeeze into them. My favorite pair ripped in the thigh from the strain of being too tight. I've lost nearly 90 pounds over the past two years, and am now wearing between a zero and a four, depending on the brand. But........as others have mentioned, the sizes today are definitely larger than they used to be in the past. My aunt told me to help myself to any clothes I liked while I was helping to clear out a guest room closet that had sort of been where everything she was no longer wearing but didn't want to give away went, and some size 8s from the 90s or 2000s fit as well as the 2s and 4s today. I forgot to include top and dress sizes. I'm busty, so in more fitted dresses I am between a 6 and a 10. In dresses designed to be loose like ones by Max Studio I wear an XS. I wear anything from an XS to a large in tops depending on the fit. There's some that are XS but so huge it could be a XL in another brand, and some that are large but snug around the chest.
