ohgeeasleeve 12 Posted October 27, 2017 I’m growing increasingly impatient. I finished all of my preop 10 days ago and still don’t have a date. I know it takes time, but I’m just anxious to have a date!
dcole007 21 Posted October 27, 2017 I’m growing increasingly impatient. I finished all of my preop 10 days ago and still don’t have a date. I know it takes time, but I’m just anxious to have a date! It normally has to go back to the surgeons desk, which took 2 1/2 weeks, then has to be submitted to your insurance company for pre-authorization. That can usually take anywhere from 15-30 days for approval depending on your insurance company. After that the office will schedule if you are approved. That's my doctors office process, but it could be different at yours. I would call and ask if you aren't sure. If your self-paying, then the process should be much faster but I would stay on top of it with weekly or bi-weekly phone calls. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. :-) 1 ohgeeasleeve reacted to this
GassyGurl 428 Posted October 28, 2017 I was self pay and had my date before preop testing, in fact I had a date before I put my deposit down. The hospital required all blood work to be less than 30 days old. I hope you have a date soon! ohgeeasleeve 12 Posted October 30, 2017 Heard from the financial director today, I’ll have a date by the end of the week!
temkins 71 Posted October 31, 2017 I guess it all depends on the surgeon's office, type of financing and how stars are shaped above your head In my case I got the date a month before the op day - before my pre-op checks with PCP, the surgeon and insurance clearance. During that month I got all checks, and my insurance clearance came 1 day before the surgery. Actually I was already expecting to have it postponed, but was amazingly lucky with my surgeon's office admin staff, who were pushing the insurance company almost every 2 hours 1 dcole007 reacted to this
