can PBing be a sign of being too full?

Recommended Posts

This may be a silly question but i thought I had the concept of PBing down until lastnight. Can one PB as a indicator of being too full? In the past, I have PB due to eating something too fast and not chewing well resulting in large piece of food being built up, or from eating something mushy that is hard to break down like stuffing or soft bread. Last night, I went out to dinner with some friends and had a stuffed chicken breast (had spinach and cheese inside). It wasn't too big. I felt full but it was so good that I wanted to get that last bite in because wasn't enough to take home. I should have left it on the plate because I had to head to the bathroom and up it came.

Can be that you ate too much...Or ate too quick...Or are too tight...Or didn't chew well enough.

PB can be a sign of LOTS of things. If my PBs could talk, here are some of the things they would tell me:

  • I'm too tight (when I had been PBing for about 9 hours)
  • You tried to swallow too much at once
  • You tried to swallow without chewing well enough
  • Your period will be starting within the next 4 days
  • You just got off a plane
  • It's before 6pm
  • You tried to drink too soon after eating
  • I'm just feeling bitchy today, and I'm taking it out on you
  • I really didn't like that today, try again tomorrow, I might like it then
  • I just wanted to make sure you still knew who's boss
  • You should have stopped 1 bite ago

PB = Productive Burb. a nice term for vomiting.:sick But it's not a normal vomit, there's no projectile to it.....more like just slime coming up and sliding out on its own...thick mucus stuff that sometimes will have bits of the offending food in it and give you some relief.

Any better descriptions? That's just my experience talking. And it's not always going to happen right away.....sometimes it's an hour or so after eating when the food tries to move from the pouch to the lower stomach......it gets stuck in the stoma (the little channel that connects the two).

So true. Mine also lets me know that I'm still fertile. Even when I had no fill, I could PB during that time of the month.

Definitely. Only twice since banding have I done this, pressed on with something becuase it was sooooo good and really eaten too much!

And I was a bees dick away from Pbing both times. If I had have moved, taken a deep breath or bent over I would have lost the lot. It was only force of will that kept it down (was in public).

Its a horrid feeling, bad enough for me to not do it again. But yeah, its like its sitting in your throat, backed all the way up.

Oh - and my PB's are projectile, exactly like a normal vomit and they come out my nose too. Erk.

One bite can do it. When your band says stop, you have to listen.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
