Heyo,

So I was wondering if anyone knows how long It's recommended to wait before taking a puff.

I want to make sure that my body can handle it. I am aware of munchies but I'm not too worried about that.

Pls let me know what you've expierenced or what youve been reccomended by doctors. :)

There have been a whole bunch of posts about this. If you search for them, you can read without having to wait for knowledgeable and experienced people to respond.

wow read into things much. Why do you think they want to you stop smoking period. lets see ingesting any substance other than clean air into your lungs is a problem, even dust taking into your lungs in elevated amounts is unhealthy. If this journey is about getting health and changing habits that are bad for your overall health, then yea its a bad habit.

I have smoked (some) with no problem, and have had no issues with edibles.

A week after my surgery I started using marijuana again and it replaces all my pain medication however I didn’t smoke the dry herb. I recommend cannabis THC concentrate (Or CBD) oil in a vape pen. That way you start feeling good in one or two puffs and don’t have to keep smoking.

I personally waited until five months out. Munchies will cause grazing, don’t give in to it.

May want to switch to vaping, it’s cleaner and a more clear high. Munchies are not as bad but the relaxed state better.

I would wait “at least” a month because of the munchies. Or wait until you can inhale without pain.

Thank you!! So would u say that its safe to smoke a jay in about a months time after the surgery? I just want the relaxed part of smoking so I'll probably have some before going to bed which would mean im asleep before the munchies hit haha XD

Yeah I think its safe. Just dont eat when you wanna munch. I dont have much of an issue with it, but some do. And you're very welcome!

Yes because our air is so clean, medications are so so good for your body and the food you eat is too. Let’s face it. (Not)

THC, is good for people for many reasons and is, you guessed it! MEDICINAL. I have known people with cancer, MS, scoliosis, depression and stuttering, headaches, nerve pain, who use weed. And Vaping it is much cleaner than smoke in the lungs and even the air some people breathe. I think most anti pot people really haven’t the knowledge about it to have a fair opinion. As someone who does not smoke it but twice a year, and who group up in a commune like setting with many who have, I can honestly say it’s A-OK. I think the fact people are obese and changing their habits is enough to know they are really making a huge change toward better health.

It’s worse to read people want to drink, which screws up liver, kidneys and brain function.

CBD rather than THC, is additive of weed - but without the stoned feeling. It’s a fantastic pain killer.

Weed is not unhealthy for you. Hell, George Washington separated the male and female plants knowing females produced more THC, which no doubt helped with those pesky toothaches - and Queen Elizabeth swore by it for her cycles and ran an entire country.

To me just being obese, drinking Coke and eating fried food or having a cigarette, is worse, so is wine and beer in the wrong hands.

Each their own. But ya know, kinda funny to come into a thread where someone is obviously a seasoned pot smoker and pull a “just say no to drugs” stunt without having the knowledge about it in the first place.

I vaped THC within a week of being home from the hospital. No ill effects. I asked my surgeon before hand and he said I would be fine (always check with your surgeon). The munchies were never a big deal for me and now being 14 months out (daily smoker) I can honestly say cannabis rarely affects my appitate. I am also very strict with what I eat and when I eat it. I think that's key. Knowing your next meal/snack is right around the corner.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
