Sparker7 35 Posted October 27, 2017 I made my own broth with veggies and shrimp. Once the broth is done, I let my friends dogs have the veg and shrimp and save the broth in small containers in the fridge and freezer. It's delicious and not difficult to make at all. The dogs think they've hit the jackpot when I drop off the big ziplock bag of mushy veg and boiled shrimp. 2 UntamedIrish and CamillaCallie reacted to this

FishOn 75 Posted October 27, 2017 (edited) I used pre-packaged and also made my own using cut beef bone from the Asian market, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. First I braise the beef bones then add a few cut up celery stalks, chunked whole carrots and onion. Boil for a couple of hours and salt and pepper to taste. Then strain out the solid ingredients. I also add a little lemon and a little finely chopped fresh cilantro and jalapeno just before serving. I used a huge beef bone from a local slaughter house but it wasn’t very good. Just a solid bone, uncut ☹️ I will try the Asian market [emoji1360]Have a great day!Amanda [emoji16]HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017. I may have to try that, I’m a few weeks from my liquid diet so I’m trying to make a variety of them. Goal weight 150’ish I started with raw, unpeeled shrimp, onions, carrots, celery, mushrooms, garlic cloves, and tomatoes. I let that boil for about an hour and then added salt, pepper, cumin, crushed red pepper, and parsley. Boiled that for another hour or two-I didn't put on a timer. Once strained, I was surprised by how great it was. That's the first time I had made broth from scratch and I just put in whatever I liked, so I was happy it turned out. I like spicy, but I'll leave the crushed red pepper out during the post-op healing time. I've got another week on the pre-op liquid diet to enjoy it. 2 confusedturtle3 and FishOn reacted to this

I will have to make some. I made butternut squash and pumpkin Soup yesterday and healthy zuppa toscana today for the freezer. I blended them up really smooth for the purée stage [emoji177]Have a great day!Amanda [emoji16]HW 248 CW 241 Surgery Date: pending 11/21/2017.
