I had my surgery yesterday. Was in some pain until they got it under control. Was up and walking three hours after getting to my hospital room. Nurses were shocked but after I had my c section with my daughter (15 years ago) I recall the sooner I got up and walked the faster I healed. I have been eating ice chips and drinking small sips of Water. Only had a couple bites of Jello last night and one teaspoon of broth. I will see how Breakfast goes shortly. Being removed from IV today and going to liquid medicine. Fingers crossed for a successful day. Not sure when I’m leaving it may be tomorrow or Friday. Much love to you all!!!

Just had ab 6oz of broth and 2 bites of Jello - big improvement - still have IV at 40% and IV meds. Some mild discomfort - regularly doing 6-12 laps at a time - belching and farting along the way.

Awesome Sosewsue61 sounds like you’re doing great. Still no gas for me. I keep walking but nothing coming out lol. Baby sips of Water and a little broth and jello. My husband is in complete amazement that I’m not starving after these four days. Dr is keeping me one more night since my conversion from lap and to sleeve was more complicated than he thought. Happy to be here. Not ready to go home just yet.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
