So nervous I feel nauseous! LOL

Recommended Posts

My surgery is in about 9 hrs! I am so nauseous and light headed I am not sure if it’s that I am nervous or just hungry from being on liquids lol. I wasn’t not one bit nervous until today. I can’t sleep! Ahhh! But at the same time I am excited to begin this new journey . Anyone else having surgery 10/25?

Hi-

I understand your nerves! When I think about what a major change this is going to be I get nervous too. Try to sleep- everything will be fine this time tomorrow!! Your surgeon is a pro. Smooth sailing. Take care! Good luck- sending good vibes.

I'm the same! I'm 9 hours until my surgery. I'm feeling excited, scared, but mostly worried about the pain. I'm also getting my hiatus hernia repaired. I'm only in hospital for 1 night so the fridge is stocked with Soups, broths, yougurt etc. Ready to start the new chapter. Good luck with yours.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I did... even though I had a lot of issues with the anesthesia I still sucked it up and got my butt walking as soon as I got out of recovery helped so much with the gas pain.

Thank you! I am feeling pretty good right now. At first I struggled a bit I was so tired but I couldn’t sleep and it was frustrating because I felt restless but I am doing so much better now [emoji3]. Good luck with your surgery you will do just fine trust me I was nervous for no reason everything happens so fast.

Well it's now over and done with. I was done at 9.30am on the 26th. All day I battled though the gas pain, which after many hours they controlled it down to a 4 out of 10. Couldn't keep my eyes open to walk until though the night and then I felt dizzy. Home day 2 on pain relief. Trying to get comfortable was hard but I got more sleep than the night before. I know that this next week will be the hardest but it will be all worth it. Keeping my mind on the goal ahead which is a healthier body that I can love.

Just had my first few teaspoons of custard. Went down smoothly and tasted good. Full after 4 tablespoons! My surgeon says eat anything liquid that you can get though a straw that is really runny, e.g. Custard, broth, runny yogurts, the higher in Protein like Dairy is the better.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
