I had surgery on 10/17...doctor told me I have to be on a liquid diet only for 4 week. I only did one week and find it hard only doing liquid .. I don’t think I could keep up with liquid for 4 weeks. Is anyone else going through this just liquid diet for this long. Pleas let me know how you did with just liquid diet for this long...

I have struggled with that since the 3rd day of the pre surgery diet I had my surgery October 17th and hardly have eaten anything since. A little broth, some Jello and Water. I have lost 21 pounds but not the healthy way.
My skin looks aged and dimpled
I do not like any milk or milky type products. No yogurt I have texture issues as well.
Today I decided to try some things that were not on my list.
First, oatmeal with unflavored Protein Powder. Got a few bites of that down. Will work on it again tomorrow. Instead of eating plain broth I made my own in the crockpot. Put some meat and veggies and cooked them until falling apart. Put it in the blender and pulverized it. I put Protein powder in with it and had success eating it. Maybe 5 baby spoon bites.
What a difference in my energy level !!!

5 days clear liquid and 5 weeks full liquid. I do yogurt besides my crystal light. It's not easy, in fact it's very hard, but the stomach is new and healing. It's probably important for it to heal properly. I'd be afraid to try anything solid. The strained or blended to smooth Soup is something I haven't tried just because it sounds gross to me. I also sleeved on 10/17!

I was sleeved on the 17th too. I have one week of clear liquid diet then ten days of high Protein full liquid diet. At this point I am not going to give up because I don't want any complications. Yes, it's hard to drink broth when my family is eating pizza and whatnot, but I keep telling myself I've been given this opportunity and I'll only hurt myself if I cheat. If you're able to do blended Soups, Pacific Organic makes some that are delicious. I plan on adding Protein Powder for an extra oomph and keep dreaming of my first day of soft foods! You can totally do this!! Check out theworldaccordingtoegghead for recipe variations!! So much great info!!

I guess it depends what they consider liquid. I had two weeks liquid then on week three added puréed. Mostly though, I'm just doing liquid because the Protein Shakes are so much easier than trying to figure out what to eat. I include some broccoli /cheese Soup, broth, SF pudding, popsicles.

I’m allowed full liquids the day after being relased from surgery. So 3 days after surgery but my full liquid stage last for 4 weeks.

The two week preop diet caused my to louse 25 lbs. The after op diet... I'm excited because the doctor said I can do "full liquids"... As long as it can run through a strainer.

Broths... I has to **** them up and boil it for an hour+ to ensure that the flavors take. The id mention w can make our own broths. So I'd order broth ONLY when out and about. he sensation of spooning it in was really relieving.

I had my surgery on 10/16 My Dr has me on clear liquid for 2 weeks, full liquid for 2 weeks, blended for 2 weeks, and then solid. My problem is that I'm only getting Water. I'm so hungry and looking for options on what to do. I'm so hungry and just feel like crap. I have been on liquids since Oct. 1st.

Try a Protein Shake when you are hungry. Those will fill you up and knock out the hunger for a while.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
