I also had my surgery on the 23rd. The night and early morning were rough. In and out of sleeping, back pain from bed. Being poked with needles for tests, being made to walk and drink. I wish I had a bigger heads up. I'm going better now, pain is under control. But not my hunger! I'm so hungry! Walking good. But not cleared to go home yet sadly. One more night here.

Congrats on your surgery. Sorry to hear that you had such a rough night! I didn't sleep much, I had my surgery done a surgical center instead of a hospital. I only stayed overnight since I would have had to come back in the early AM for IV fluids. I had a reclining chair, the folks with cpap machines got beds. :( Either way it wasn't bad. Thankfully I didn't have any poking me for more blood. I was always asking to get disconnected from the machines so I could walk. I can't stand being idle for too long.

I just had gas pains for the most part until the iv drugs wore off. I'm so glad they warned me beforehand that I was not in fact having a heart attack, it's just gas. Hopefully your hunger will level out for you. I'm not hungry, and I'm glad for it. Every time I drink Water it causes terrible belching and makes me queasy.

So glad you'll be home soon. Best wishes for a smooth recovery. Keep me updated with your progress!

Tasha

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
