I am a big chilli fan and general spicy curry food eater. In fact I think I put chilli on everything! Anyone else like that. I’m not sure I will be able to do it after the sleeve but wanted to know if other people tolerate chilli well?

Eden30, I am like that too!! I put hot sauce on just about everything. I was sleeved July 28, 2017. I held off using chilli until I got to the normal food stage. I don't remember being told not to have it before then. I just chose to be extra careful. I am having it now almost daily with no problems. I have no reflux issues that some sleevers experience post op. I think that makes a big difference if you have gastric reflux.

I couldn't tolerate tomatoes or spices during the first 2-3 months postop. But now I'm tearing it up! I make a super quick chili.. brown some ground meat (throw some frozen onions and green peppers in it as it's cooking), add a can of Beans and a can of diced tomatoes, put some chili seasoning on it, bam, done! Takes maybe 20 minutes, tops. Of course, slow-simmered, special recipe chili is gonna be better, but it's nice to make a version that's quick.

That sounds great berry. Yes I’m hoping that I can gradually bring it back, I can’t imagine a life without chilli in it! But if I can’t tolerate it then it’s cool. But chilli hope!!! [emoji16]

I am a hot sauce lover. My friends just came over and everyone ordered Mexican. I just had some guacamole, it had a kick to it, I think their were jalapeños in it. My sleeve tolerates it well. I have been eating curry and other milder spices since day one of surgery since my favorite Soup is a acorn squash apple curry purée. I haven’t had any trouble yet. I haven’t tried hot sauce just yet. I think I will hold off until I’m out of stage 3 for that.
