Leo85 16 Posted October 22, 2017 This is going to sound ridiculous but hoping I can find others that feel this great after surgery. I was sleeved on 10/18. I feel fantastic. I didn't take any narcotics after waking up from surgery. Just some (Torbidol?) which I was told wasn't that strong. I have no pain and almost feel like nothing happened. I was up walking around and hour after recovery and felt great. I know this sounds crazy but i almost feel like this is to good to be true? Anyone else experience this? 5 GassyGurl, ProudGrammy, MBird and 2 others reacted to this
DRS_Are_Best 5 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) My husband is like you. His surgery was on 10/4, home by 2:00pm on 10/5 and back to work on 10/16 (but working from home starting 10/9). He was able to stop the sip sip sip regimen and be more natural by 10 days out. My surgery date is 11/15. I just hope I can be as easy as him and now you! admrn 25 Posted October 22, 2017 Hello...My surgery went great as well. Was up walking an hour or so coming out of recovery. I ask the nurses, "are u sure the surgery was done". I also had a heianal hernia repaired. But was not sore had no gas it was wonderful. Surgery was Oct 16th. So im 7 day out and still sipping and walk walk walking. I have experienced some Constipation but trying to kept it from getting to out of hand. atlseeker 17 Posted October 22, 2017 Hi! I am so glad you posted this. I feel very similar to you! I'm 9 days out--had my surgery October 13--and I feel amazing. I was tired for the first couple of days, but now other than some minor irritation at my incision sites I feel 100% back to normal. I'm easily able to get in all my Water (I get some gurgling if I take too big a sip, but I can drink "normally", just not in gulps). My surgeon has sleevers start on soft foods at one week, and so far I've had no problem eating small portions of pretty much normal food. Right now I am taking breaks between bites of tuna salad with Triscuits (which are explicitly allowed during the soft food stage in his plan, since they mush down to nothing). If I hadn't lost 11 pounds in the past week with no feelings of deprivation, strong hunger, and all the accompanying pains of starving like headaches and dizziness, I'd think he'd left my stomach in! I'm eating around 1,000 calories a day, which feels like a lot? I've also been exercising though, at least a mile walk a day for the past 3 days, and shorter walks even from the day after surgery. I'm just telling myself that I knew I could *lose* weight--it was the keeping it off that I could never do, and this surgery is a tool to help me with that. I seriously have told my husband worriedly more than once that I feel like it shouldn't be this easy. I only took the narcotic pain meds the first day and then tylenol for another day and a half. I haven't had a moment of nausea. It's amazing, and I feel simultaneously incredibly grateful and yet scared that maybe the surgery won't work for me as well as the folks who are struggling more early on. 4 watsongirl17, Ta2dgurlnj, Sosewsue61 and 1 other reacted to this
Joann454 1,329 Posted October 22, 2017 I was the same as you! My pain was minimal, no gas either. I tolerated everything great (new foods). We are so very fortunate! 3 ProudGrammy, atlseeker and Ta2dgurlnj reacted to this

admrn 25 Posted October 24, 2017 Did anyone have to wear a nausea patch morning of the surgery. I did and i really think that helped with my gas and feeling "normal" after surgery. Ta2dgurlnj 0 Posted October 24, 2017 Same as you guys! Minimal pain no nausea! Still on full liquid for another week. I definitely don't want to rush but looking forward to eating as normal as possible and losing weight! I lost 11 pounds this first week and 11 on the liquid prep diet. Vsg10.26.17 4 Posted October 31, 2017 I'm so glad you all posted this! My husband is convinced I didn't have the surgery because I feel so great and haven't had ANY issues. No pain meds after the surgery, up and walking right away. Glad others are experiencing this as well!!! 1 watsongirl17 reacted to this

Check out some of my posts regarding my process. I was feeling fantastic and had no issues. I was walking around the hospital waving at people and smiling, meanwhile others who had their surgery were looking miserable and upset. I had no pain. I managed my fluids and Jello. It was pretty amazing. I summed it up to a high tolerance to pain and a stellar hospital staff. Wishing you all the best! 1 Seahawks Fan reacted to this
