edwardma39 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Hello all just 2 weeks post op from being banded, does anyone else have trouble sleeping on their side at night? I go for my first fill in four weeks, and I am really nervous! I was really somewhat restricted for the first 7 days not not really to much at all! I am trying very hard to stick to my guns and just eat exactly what they have set out for me. I had my procedure done in Port Huron Hospital. I have the gas, sometimes so painful, and I feel very weak by the and of the day, but I can feel some difference in myself a little anyway so I am trying to stay positive about that. My biggest thing is not being able to sleep on my side at night, it hurts so bad feels like my insides are ripping appart.
sweet_liberty 1 Posted October 18, 2007 What really helps me is to place a wadded up blanket or pillow under my stomach to support it, while I'm on my side. Otherwise its like the weight of my stomach itself shifts and it feels as if my incisions are tearing. -Libby :peace:
Nettie 1 Posted October 18, 2007 Tomorrow marks two weeks post op for me as well. I can sleep on my right side but not my left. Not sure why. I have lost about 15 pounds in two weeks and now my port seems to be sticking out and is rather irritating. I can feel it when I put my hand over the site. Any problems with your port? Edwardma39 It take awhile for the port site to heal - I think that at 2 weeks i could sleep on my side - but just like having a baby I don't remember when it stopped hurting. Are you getting all your Protein in??? Are you drinking your Water?? Have you tried GasX Strips & walking for the gas. Alot of people sleep in a recliner - I don't have one I slept in bed and it really wasn't that bad for me But by 2 weeks out I was doing alot better than the 1st day... What are you able to eat - each doc is diff so I don't know if you are on regular food or full liquids or mushies.... Just make healthy food choices - get your Protein & Water in.. Are you a diabetic or on high blood pressures meds - have you ck'd these out to see how they are... Don't worry about when you get a fill - that's still 4 weeks away and by the time that gets here your port site should be all healed up... Good Luck
plevy 0 Posted August 1, 2008 Hi there--I am also two week out from surgery and I still can't get comfortable in bed and in the morning when I wake up it feels like the musles in my stomach are pulling apart. My fill is also 4 weeks out. I just hope I'm not eating too much. I eat the right things, but there are no proportion amounts that I can find. I too get very tired when I do hardly nothing. I don't feel my port, but I did have the second biggest incision open up on me. Called my doctor and all is well now. Thanks for any help.
