I had my endoscopy yesterday. I am waiting for test results to come back. My regular dr is writing up my letter I did everything else I was suppose to do. I m scared I ll get run around with my insurance. I don't know why just am. I hear so many horror stories dealing with insurance companies. I am having the bypass down due to my GERD and type 2 diabetes

Also having hard time losing weight. My family doesn't understand. Ugh. Anyone else felt this way before finding out ??

I’m scheduled to have the endoscopy procedure done next Friday [emoji51]. I’m very nervous about getting insurance approval as well, but from what my patient coordinator has told me there shouldn’t be any problems as long as I complete all of my requirements and don’t gain weight. Who is your insurance provider?

I am also getting my appointments together for an approval. I am also nervous due to it being close to the holidays. I don't need a endoscopy due to having a colonoscopy done early this year . Just need to attend nutrition class. And get some lab work done . Really pushing to finish everything this week or before the end of the month. Really want my surgery this year due to my job switching insurance next year. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏾

Fidelis . I did call up the insurance and asked some questions. They said they go by whatever Dr says. I hope you don't run into any problems. I guess we just have to stay positive.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
