I have been reading about people using compression garments (after their incisions have healed) after surgery as a way to help possibly cut down the chance of loose skin. Has anyone considered this or have brands that they could suggest? I’m looking on Amazon for some but I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking for, there are a lot of options.

I think that is what they talked about. I’ve seen neoprene ones, ones that look like a tank top attached to capris, some top/bottom separates. It’s confusing trying to figure out which ones would be the best or most comfortable lol. I will Check that one out, thank you [emoji16]

Yeah many of them ... but this one is the one I’ve seen been wear after surgery .. since we only want the injuries to hold in place with the pressure.

Good luck! And I’m after 7 of your surgery! Hope you get to post how it goes for ya!

Is there any evidence to suggest that this actually works?

Sounds like BS to me

I'm sure they could help you feel better and stuff and maybe less pain post op. But I don't see how a binder is gonna make your skin healthier and more elastic or change your genetics or the amount of weight you lose

I cannot imagine that it would actually help with loose skin. I think it can hold the loose skin closer so that it's not flapping around as much [emoji12]
They can help post-surgery to keep everything compressed especially when moving around. I was going to get one the Friday after surgery but my Monday, I didn't feel the need anymore. If it feels good use it, but I wouldn't expect miracles with the skin.

It doesn’t this is just to hold pressure on your wounds .. so any moments or cough won’t bother as much and stretch your wound out.

It won’t help you to get rid of loose skin, but will eventually reduce flapping :) Just get a regular compression underwear and T-shirts - those bulky bands are very uncomfortable, won’t let you bend.

True.
I don’t think there is any that helps reduce loose skin to be honest [emoji848]

Thank you for the responses. I really had no idea what purpose they served, I’ve read about helping with loose skin but maybe they meant it helps make it less visible through clothes or something. Obviously I need to read more about them lol . I like the idea that it would help with coughing, it would keep me from taking a pillow everywhere. A friend of mine (not having surgery, I showed her a SS of a pair from Amazon) said they look like spanks. I have never used those either so I have no idea. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Still going to research more about these out of curiosity. Thank you again

Have a great day!

My doctors automatically puts one on you. You wear it home. It’s your choice on how long you wear it. But he says he has patients come in at 6 month checkup with it still on.

Hmmm I wonder if mine does anything like that, he never mentioned it and I never thought to ask. I will give them a call and ask, thank you [emoji1360][emoji16]

It sounds like that and possibly to help with swelling too.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
