bumpdad 0 Posted October 17, 2017 How many visits to a psychologist have you been required to make for your psych evaluation?
Hopep4673 120 Posted October 17, 2017 Just 1 i had a 1 on 1 talk with the psych and a psych test that included over 400 scantron questions from what I understand though some programs require the testing and visit in separate apptsSent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Yank91 3 Posted October 17, 2017 I have done only one visit. The reason for the visit, is to make sure that your are mentally prepared for surgery and you know exactly what it entails, how it will change your life and what to expect after surgery. If deemed that you are making an educated decision, the doctor will give you clearance for surgery. I am not sure what happen if you have a history of psych issues or if you demonstrate uncertainty during your visit. Maybe in such a situation, you would have to do more than one visits. 1 olympia25 reacted to this

My wife had the surgery last June and the requirement was the same as you. I’m seeing a different psychologist and this guy is requiring THREE. Just wondering if it is bill padding? TriGirl 15 Posted October 17, 2017 Just one. One on one lasted an hour (at most - including her gathering basic info) My co-pay was $25 but the fee for writing a report was $150. That stung a little! 1 olympia25 reacted to this

No psych issues. And my wife had the sleeve done 16 months ago, so I’m well educated as to the process. This guy requires 3 visits for everybody and it seems excessive from what I heard and from my wife’s experience (she saw a different psychologist)

Krista27 341 Posted October 18, 2017 I had three visits as well. First visit was just to talk about myself and the surgery, second was just to take a very long personality test, and the third was to go over the test. After that she cleared me. 1 olympia25 reacted to this
