My Sleeve is broken

Recommended Posts

2 scrambled eggs is 180 calories. I'd hardly constitute thst as a broken sleeve.

You're adjusting to changes, get used to it

eggs are not a dense Protein. When you get to where you are cleared to eat solid, denser foods, like chicken, beef, pork, you will feel the restriction.

Your sleeve is not broken. Just be patient, and when you get to denser foods, you will see.

eggs are still considered a soft food, so its still early. When you get to things like steak and pork chops you should start feeling something. Don't rush it though. All in its good old time. Let your tummy heal.. THAT is most important right now. And double check you're on acid meds.

also try to remember to look at food differently. Eat until you are no longer hungry. when we were growing up we were always taught to eat until we are full so we considered that the right way. If we eat only when we are hungry and stop when we are no longer hungry, I found I had much better results.

Thanks everyone. It's a bit scary when you feel like you had surgery and it doesn't work.

So many people feel that way but it's rarely true. It's like we have this mentality that since so many other weight loss attempts didn't work, surely there will be a reason this one doesn't work. Anyway, good luck!

Once you eat a denser Protein you will feel it. chicken triggers my restriction hard personally and so does steak. eggs never triggered restriction for me and now I can't eat them at all as they don't sit well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
