Vitamin B questions

Recommended Posts

Does anyone with a sleeve take Vitamin B pills? I ordered the B complex patch from this site, but I often forget to put it on. I don't understand why I can't just take a vitamin B pill with my other Vitamins. There is also a liquid you put under your tongue. Has anyone had success with that?

I take Vitamin b. I take it either in sublingual form daily or as a nasal spray (rx from surgeon).
I don’t understand why you shouldn’t be able to take it. What’s the rationale behind it and have you spoken to your doctor about this?

I have spoken with my doctor. He said he recommends the nasal spray, but my insurance wouldn't cover it and it's over $500 a month. I couldn't afford it. He said he didn't know much about the patch and wanted me to take injections, but I don't like injections. For some reason he said the pills don't absorb well after the sleeve surgery and I just wondered if anyone else took the pills and had success.

My b levels were perfectly fine for as long as I took the melting pre-surgery. I may go back to it too, i think i like it better than the nasal spray, even if I have to take them every day, we’ll see.
The b i used was the one from Celebrate. Check them out, ask for a sample first. Then you can use the cost of the sample toward any purchases.

The sublingual B12 is extremely cheap, it'll be the least of your concerns when it comes to vitamins....

I find that women’s Multivitamins have a very high concentration of B12 & B6 normally well over your daily amount you need to survive. I take the vita fusion Women’s gummies energy metabolism and bone support. I love them and I can feel the energy body. They’re about 7/8 bucks at Walmart for a 70 count and have 300% of your Vitamin B12 and 100% of your B6

For a multi Vitamin my doctor told me to get flintstones chewables. I take 2 a day. Also very inexpensive at Walmart or the grocery store

The problem is B12 is absorbed and processed in the stomach lining, not the intestines like most vitamins; and with less surface area in the stomach you can't efficiently process normal doses! It's like 75% less (don't quote me on that number, but it's close).

That's why other methods are preferable to taking a pill. sublingual, nasal, shot... none of those have to be processed by the stomach lining so your absorption is much better.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
