As an avid foodie I cannot wait to get back to real food! So share your recipes with me! I’m really into fall produce rn. I have been living off of acorn squash and apple Soup since surgery.

Sleeved 10/13 :-)

I laid in bed searching Pinterest for recipes the first two weeks after making my own recipe book lol... huge fan of muffin tin quiches with bacon crust. And any type of meatball!

Oh ok so I’m not a weirdo! I have been doing the exact same thing! I used to make muffin tin quiches before surgery anyway so I’m all about those!

Just a quick note, You can take or leave it but here goes....Acorn Squash is counted as bread on Weight Watchers and other weight loss groups. The reason I know this? Because I was eating acorn squash for lunch every day. LOL It played havoc with my WL back then. I'm sure you aren't getting near as much as I was eating due t WLS.

Is it only the acorn squash or all squashes? This is actually my first time having it I’m normally a butternut girl myself but my bestie made me this recipe and I’m hooked. I’m positive you can make it with butternut though.

I'm not sure but what I have learned thru my MANY MANY WL tries is all of the winter squash like the hard-skinned ones are usually higher in calories and stuff. Summer squash is your lower calories etc. But they don't last very long. If you look up the Calories and all online it will give you a better idea. Also, your new little tummy won't allow you to eat much, just measure out what you are supposed to have and you will be fine. If you are like me I love them with butter. LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
