sleevie_nix 2 Posted October 15, 2017 Hi all!I was sleeved on Thursday morning and since then I’ve had overwhelming regret. I’m SO nauseous and my heartburn is so extreme. I can’t even drink any Water. I’m starting to feel so weak from having nothing in my system. I’m So scared that this is my new reality and I’ve made a big mistake. I’m at a really low point. I had bad reflux before I even had the surgery, but my surgeon assured me I wouldn’t have a problem. Well here I am. 1 njgal reacted to this
readytolose727 55 Posted October 15, 2017 I was sleeved 9/25, and it is definitely rough the first week or so, but trust me it will get better. Did the doctor prescribe something for the reflux , I didn't have reflux before but I have it now and I take prilosec once a day before and it helpsStarting Weight 261Surgery Weight 2413 Weeks postop 229 1 njgal reacted to this
njgal 535 Posted October 15, 2017 The first few days to a week is crappy, no doubt about it. So much so that it was difficult for me to tell one problem from the next, for the first 1-2 days. You will feel better each day but if you don’t feel better even just a bit since surgery I would contact my team if I were you. As for the acid reflux... not saying you do, but I mixed up gas pain and acid reflux those first 1-2 days when I had an overwhelming general crappiness but I started taking prilosec otc the 3rd day and I had been taking it for 2 weeks prior in prepration. When that didn’t suffice for 1-2 nights I ended up taking Tums with my surgeon’s blessing.
njgal 535 Posted October 15, 2017 The most important thing is Water, water, water... careful to sip only. And walk!!
Believer70 3 Posted October 16, 2017 I promise it will get better!! Just a few more days and then every day will get better. It’s just part of the process, keep trying your Water. I can’t say much about Protein intake, because I wasn’t very good about drinking it, but the regret will pass as the days do. Keep your chin up, and just rest for now [emoji813]️

FreeStanley 5 Posted November 4, 2017 Ive done a lot of reading on fasting which is essentially what your experiencing not having food. You have nothing to worry about. People have lived without food for over a year and not died. Water is obviously important. Im no doctor but thats what I read that a doctor said...Dr Jason Fung who wrote The Obesity Code. Very informative book by the way. Free Stanley
Erica517 64 Posted November 14, 2017 After my surgery which was in 2014 I had the absolute worst heartburn and acid reflex I didn’t experience any nausea but the acid reflex and heartburn is totally normal and it will subside I promise you just have to give it a little bit of time

sleevie_nix 2 Posted November 14, 2017 I see it's been a couple weeks. How are you now? I hope your feeling better and on a more pleasant journey. Hi thanks so much for checking in. So it’s been exactly a month since my surgery. I’m doing wayyyy better. My reflux is being pretty well controlled with the omeprazole. I’m also down around 45 pounds.(This includes Weight lost from my pre op liquid diet)Overall, I’m not regretting my sleeve anymore, it’s still a huge adjustment. I’m definitely in a better place now. 1 sunbunny83 reacted to this
