Gym memberships and workout

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 9/26/2017. And my starting weight was 287. I lost 40 pounds before surgery and only lost only 14 pounds after surgery. So I am weighing 233lbs. I wasn't getting in any calories to burn anything so I started soft food and Vitamins and started going back to the gym doing 30 minute cardio on the treadmill and 30 minute resistance training. Hopefully the scale will start moving. I haven't been able to eat much I get full really fast. Anybody has any good workout routines that has been working for them and dont mind sharing.

exercise does not cause weight loss.

do what you enjoy. which likely doesn't involve a treadmill in a gym.

I workout 3-4 times a week, but the exercise doesn’t move the scale. What I do feel it has done for me is build strength, stamina, flexibility and balance.

While I can’t back this up with facts, it does feel like working out has supported me in keeping my metabolism from crashing into survival mode. But who knows.

I do HIT 2x week, yoga 1x week and 4th workout is either urban hiking or another HIT or yoga class.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
