Walter, please go and see your psychiatrist. It’s okay to feel depressed. Just need to have a way of releasing it in a healthy and positive way.

That’s true. It could be the assurance

It's more than reassurance. From reading here, I'd be the bad husband... It's just me. But when we got together, I made commitment to him - a commitment I'm going to honor. But I also have to state that this journey is not ALL ABOUT ME. It's about him as well. This is going to effect his life as much as mine. It effects my parents as well. Same goes for my employees who I make a weekly habit of buying lunch.< br />
I have to be as appreciative and grateful, publicly and honestly, about their support, as they are supportive of me.

I read somewhere that after surgery hormones can be also be out of balance, it’s a major surgery and many changes take place while we recover. If your symptoms continue, speak with your surgeon first.

I take medicine for my depression. I used to go to a psychologist, and things were getting better. I stopped seeing him and now I feel like killing someone.

Maybe go back then???? I just starting seeing a new psychiatrist last week and I no longer have insomnia!! It was the best move I've made. My precious one, since 2013 just couldn't figure out how to fix my insomnia. So I fired her...lol

Best wishes!

You are so strong. I know this because anyone who chooses this surgery has to have great strength. If you are exclusive with him and he didn’t come to the hospital, you deserve so much better!!! I’m five days post op and we are probably going through many of the same feelings and i know this is a brutal time to make huge changes... but you’re about to go though some amazing and positive changes. If he can’t be there for you through the tough stuff... do you really want him to be able to have the good stuff? There’s another guy out there who wants both. Praying for you and no matter what happens, you’re going to get through this and you’re going to feel amazing is every way. I know it!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
