Bing Eating Before My Surgery October 30th!

Recommended Posts

I have been doing so well for the past 6 months by exercising and eating right up until I got my surgery date two weeks ago. Now I have NO Will Power, I am hungry all the time and I suddenly don't have the motivation to exercise. I feel horrible and I fear that my surgery date will be cancelled due to weight gain. Maybe I want to eat everything in sight due to my fear of NEVER HAVING IT AGAIN! Has anyone else experienced self sabotage before the surgery?

My date is Oct 30th as well. I too have been sneaking more bad foods (since being given my date), but I haven't stopped exercising, nor have I stopped trying to watch out for certain foods during the day. I start the pre-op on the 16th so I think part of it is trying to get that last "hurrah" in before I start prepping.

Here too. Did not stop exercising, but making bad choices with food. Thought it was just me.

When I got my surgery date I went on a food farewell tour. Went to all my favorite restaurants and ate my favorite foods. I felt that I probably wouldnt be going back to those restaurants or eating those foods. Six weeks post op I’m feeling good about the surgery and best of all I dont miss the restaurants or food.
From what I’m reading food funerals or farewell tours aren’t unusual.

I should've done a food farwell tour !!! lol.. That sounds pretty awesome lol. My last cheat meal was yesterday and I grilled two cheese toast sandwiches and had that with some Trader Joes Cookie Butter Ice Cream. I went to my last Pre-Op appointment this morning and gained two pounds! BUT I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because my Surgeon still has me set for my Surgery October 30th! So from here on out.. no more cheat days! And I will kick up my workouts to one hour a day. I can't wait to get this surgery over with.. my Phentermine doesn't even work anymore smh. :(

My surgery isn’t until 11/21 but I had Panda Express Orange chicken today. I don’t plan on doing a food farewell tour but we are having an early Thanksgiving before I start my liquid diet. My excuse is I want to make one last batch of Bone Broth from the turkey bones & turkey Soup. I love turkey so not being able to eat it for Thanksgiving will be torture.

Have a great day!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
