damzelindistres5 17 Posted October 11, 2017 Hi. I don't want to tell my work I'm getting this surgery. It's a personal choice and I don't want in warrantless opinions. I am thinking of taking a week off but I may need more so I will probably need to tell them I'm getting a medical procedure, so they are aware I'm not just on "vacation" or something. What do you suggest?

damzelindistres5 17 Posted October 11, 2017 Hello does your job offer FMLA?I don't think so. I'm in California, I have worked here a year BUT we don't have 50+ employees. We have like 4 employees!

CrissCriss 97 Posted October 11, 2017 I would tell them you are having surgery but not what kind because you don't have to go into details. 1 BeTrue83 reacted to this
ZinNH 173 Posted October 12, 2017 I started a new job two weeks before my surgery. I just told my boss that I was having a medical procedure done and would need to miss four days. I did need to bring n a doctor’s note, but no questions were asked. My surgery was on a Tuesday, and I went back six days later, on Monday. If anyone had asked, I was prepared to either fess up or say it was a girly surgery, but luckily no one asked. 1 njgal reacted to this
