Miss Topaz 300 Posted October 20, 2017 Mine is only 2 days before surgery and matches the full liquid diet for after surgery. So it'll probably be just 2 days of Protein Shakes.
Angie's_Ocean 213 Posted October 20, 2017 I can only have Clear Liquids e.i. sf Jello, sf popsicles (saving grace), sf Powerade, Water, and broth three days prior to surgery. I'm dizzy every morning and extremely snappy to people around me....I also have a constant headache. BUT I've lost 4 lbs in two days so that's good. Mines the same for a week before surgery

It's your responsibility to get your meds in liquid form. My Surgeon helped me with that. Just think your surgeon or clinic could be a little friendlier in their approach. 1 Msdooloo reacted to this

ShelbyMoore 84 Posted October 22, 2017 I have a question, which may sound silly, but ... my surgery is tomorrow. So I’m on clear liquids. I know all the regular clear liquid stuff but can I have Protein Water? It looks clear but I can’t find anywhere where it says protein water is ok or not. It’s not mentioned. I think some added protein will help me get through this. So.. what’s the deal with protein water on the day before surgery? Thanks a lot!

I asked my surgeon specifically if a clear protein drink was ok and she said it was fine to have. I also asked about Bone Broth because I found some that had 9 grams of protein per cup of broth! She ok’d both. Hope that helps 1 colleen 5595 reacted to this
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted October 23, 2017 I was not allowed the Protein Drinks for day 9 and 10, on the 10 day pre-op, only broth, Vitamin Water zero, crystal light, sf popsicles, sf Jello, Decaf coffee or tea.....so basically noncaloric stuff.

Mine is the exact same as you RickM. It's just like what I did before my colonoscopy.
