MJP820 33 Posted October 26, 2017 Make sure that you include in your liquid diet fluids that are sugar free or low in sugar and calories. The idea is that your diet should be high in Protein but low in fat and carbohydrates and therefore low in calories too. Some of the fluids you can include in your diet are: Water G2 ® Propel ® Power Ade Zero Crystal Light ®, Clight ®, etc. Dark coffee, preferably decaffeinated fruit juices without sugar or low sugar Tea / Iced Tea, preferably decaffeinated Sugar free Gelatin (Jell-O®) Premier Protein ® Gold Standard 100% whey Beef, poultry or vegetable broth (bouillon can be used) Water with Proteins like: Special K ® O2 or similar Sugar free water Popsicles no seeds or fruit pieces Kool-Aid ® unsweetened Tang ® unsweetened, etc. Carnation ® Instant Breakfast Sugar free made with skim milk, soy or almond milk Soups / low Carb (example: Campbell’s ® veggie soups or chicken noodle, the creamed soups are much higher in carbs) pureed with water ** You can use the whey Protein Powder as a substitute for a full meal, three times a day, supplementing with other options during the day. Mixing this powder with skim milk tastes better than with water. **Being only liquids it can seem that there is no way to overdo but it is possible, so you must ensure that the total intake of calories per day does not exceed 1000 calories. 1 sheilaMc reacted to this

JloCuchara 5 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) I have a 2 week (14 days) pre-op diet. 5,10,15 rule which is a Protein Shake that has less than 5 fat grams, less than 10 carbs and more than 15 grams of Protein.< br /> i am drinking the Premier Protein shakes vanilla and the caramel ones. 1 protein shake for breakfast 1 protein shake for lunch 4 oz of lean meat for dinner (2 shot glasses worth or 2 small bites) 46oz of Clear Liquids, no carbonation, no caffeine The day before surgery it is clear liquids only, no shakes no food.< br /> I started my diet Oct. 25, it has been super rough but i have lost 8.8 pounds already. I still have the normal size stomach as i haven't had surgery yet and i am still very hungry everyday, but i know in just 1 week more it will be all better and I will have the surgery done and then I won't worry so much about food anymore. I was never a big eater to begin with, usually ate only 1 time a day and that was at dinner, I suppose that is why my metabolism got so slow to begin with? Anyways, I just keep up on fluids every time i feel hungry and try to make myself full that way. Good luck to everyone Edited October 31, 2017 by JloCuchara
