mel1214 14 Posted October 9, 2017 I had my pre-op class today and we talked a lot about Protein. Problem is, they push whey protein because it absorbs better, but I’m prone to kidney stones and a vegetarian so whey isn’t an option for me. The dietician is going to do some research for me, but does anyone know of a good vegan protein that actually tastes good? 1 FenwayRN reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted October 10, 2017 Does it have to be vegan? There are egg white based Proteins as well.
Ldyvenus 317 Posted October 10, 2017 Your best bet is soy, and other types of Beans. Milk and cheese also have quite a bit of Protein.

Kat410 423 Posted October 11, 2017 There are lots of vegan Protein powders. I used Orgain but then switched to a whey powder and am getting better weight loss results since doing so.
FenwayRN 3 Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) I’ve been a vegetarian for 20+ years and have started the pre-op diet. Getting my Protein in has been very hard. I’m drinking shakeology which I know Is vegan. I will eat eggs/seafood too. Do you have suggestions for protein options? VSGnewguy 164 Posted December 15, 2017 I've never tried it but I've heard that PB2 Peanut Butter powder isn't bad and can be used to add some Protein to shakes, etc. 2 Mommyof2grlz and niceross reacted to this
