fairydust 0 Posted October 17, 2007 Hi everyone! Hope you are doing well on your bandster journeys! Well I just wanted to update you all. I got through the liquids and mushies without cheating and my surgeon reccommendd 8 weeks of thyat! But it was not that difficult because I wanted to heal properly! I am on solids, have been for a week or so and loving food again but unfortunately I have no restriction. I am still eating less but it is through choice, and I have exerienced no pain or pbing at all-infact sometimes I am not even sure I have a band! So I cant wait to be filled and see it on xray. I have lost almost 50lbs since I started my pre-op diet, I was 24st6lbs and I am now 20st9lbs which is unbelievable! I am feeling great and have more energy already. I shall let you all know how my first fill goes next week, I am quite nervous about that! I am going to enjoy bandster hell until then! If anyone reading this is not sure about the procedure I can quite honestly say that in the last 2 months I have changed radically and I feel like it has saved my life! Do your research, find a good surgeon and start to watch yourself change! xxXXxx:whoo:
Racing Snake 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Hello, I had my band fitted on 12 October and I'm presently on 2 weeks of liquids, followed by 2 weeks of slightly thicker liquids. I don't feel hungry at all and have no discomfort apart from what I can only describe as a very slight griping pain every now and again, which my surgeon has told me is entirely natural. I opted for the new French band which has 5 retaining stitches as opposed to just one. It has 0% ability to slip at all. I have most first post-operative visit to my consultant on 30 October, just to make sure all is well, then my first fill under X ray 4 weeks after that..... BUT.......today is day 6 and I have already lost 12lbs! I know this will slow down a bit once things start to thicken up, but what a blazing start. No ridiculous pre-op diet, and no ridiculous requirements post-operatively beyond following the advice and liquid diet.

libertysuzanne 1 Posted October 18, 2007 Ha ha, it is sog ood to hear someone else who can't eat chips!!! That is my most serious no go! It really is a good benefit. I am so glad to hear those that are just beginning their journey. I was banded on the 18th Oct last year and had my second fill on monday. Should really have done it sooner, but I was slightly financially lacking. Even so, I only gained 4 lbs in weight nad that has gone in 3 days, since having the fill and this one really does repress my desire to eat! I am hoping I have discovered my sweet spot. Only time will tell!

foxychick04 0 Posted October 18, 2007 fairydust that is an amazing weight loss!! Keep us updated - I'm just completing my thick liquids week and I'm struggling a little but that's because I'm not planning my eating and drinking as well as I did last week. I'm still eating way less that i normally do and pretty much making good choices. No regrets from me so far
