temkins 71 Posted October 8, 2017 Oh my, this is a bit early, as you just advanced from your liquid phase I guess shake is fine, but be ready to get too much attention and answer numerous questions about the surgery, lack of willpower and othe silly things... after all, do what is more convenient and comfortable to you - you got through all pains and made a very hard and ultimate decision with you WLS, so nobody have the right to say how should you socialize. Frankly speaking, I think a WLS decision is a way more responsible one, compared to weddings 😁
Fibro Queen 52 Posted October 8, 2017 Let me know how things go as I too will be going to a wedding about 4 weeks out from my sleeve surgery! Didn't think anyone else would have to do this besides my family!! Good luck as you face this challenge.
Lannie 135 Posted October 10, 2017 I had to attend a formal dinner/ fundraiser for works 2 weeks post op. I was liquid only at the time. I had a shake on the way there. Then during dinner, I stepped away for about 20 mins. It was easier to excuse myself rather than sit at a table and have to explain why I didn't touch the food. Return in time for the festivities. No one noticed as they were all too busy socializing. Good luck 1 MiJ reacted to this
Sullie06 1,013 Posted October 10, 2017 If you are close enough with the bride/groom you can approach them to see if maybe you can have a special plate made, similar to if you have severe food allergies. Maybe they can do a Soup or something similar. 1 BritneyMc2017 reacted to this
BritneyMc2017 38 Posted October 10, 2017 I'm going to be in a wedding 4 weeks post op lol Maid of Honor [emoji846] I'm going to bring my own shakes and items so that I'm prepared and keep myself busy with the bride. She knows I'm having surgery and that's all that matters, I don't plan on touching dinner unless it's something extremely light.
