I was not allowed bacon until I was on regular foods which was right around 10 weeks. I was not allowed pork bacon until after 6 months. I now eat it on occasion with no issues. I like to make breadless BLT's from time to time.

Butterball Turkey bacon is the best! I actually like it better than the pork bacon! But that's the only brand I'll eat

I used to think turkey bacon was gross, but now love it.

I like to get the high Protein flatbread wraps....and wrap me up a turkey bacon BLT.

To cook turkey bacon, lay it all out on a cookie sheet, give it a little spritz with cooking spray and pop it in the oven (directions on package).... The whole pan will get nice and crisp. Lock what you don't use immediately in an airtight container for use on other sandwiches, Breakfast, baked potatoes, salad, etc.

Looking very forward to tasting that old favorite again.

@Sullie06 Why no "pork" bacon specifically? I have to run and check, but I think I have a no beef rule for the first 3 months? Can't remember since it's so far into the future? Thanks! Inquiring minds...

And as far as turkey bacon goes...what part of the turkey does the turkey bacon come from? *scratches head and looks mystified and a little bit horrified*

I would ask your doc, but I ate some crispy bacon at eight weeks out with no problems. I probably eat a slice or two every two or three weeks on a Saturday or Sunday. I don’t care too much for turkey bacon, so I would rather have the real thing and cut corners somewhere else.

Per my plan they didn't want us eating pork, venison or steak for 6 months because they can be harder for the stomach to process and some people have bad reaction to pork products.

I could have regular texture meats on day 15. I tried half a pc of bacon with no issues.

Thanks sweetie! @Sullie06

@GassyGurl hehe For some reason "textured meats" made me giggle.

I tried some crumbled bacon in my scrambled eggs at about 4 weeks and regretted it immediately. Tried again at 6 weeks and now I eat a piece almost every morning with my egg :)

I think you have to keep trying and if it feels funny, move on and revisit...same happened to me with nuts. I am 8 weeks post op and eat nuts often :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
