Sullie06 1,013 Posted October 9, 2017 I was not allowed bacon until I was on regular foods which was right around 10 weeks. I was not allowed pork bacon until after 6 months. I now eat it on occasion with no issues. I like to make breadless BLT's from time to time. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
Road2Newme3 116 Posted December 10, 2017 Thanks Doreen. I hope the turkey bacon isn't disgusting like a lot of ppl say. Butterball Turkey bacon is the best! I actually like it better than the pork bacon! But that's the only brand I'll eatSent from my SM-G892A using BariatricPal mobile app
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted December 11, 2017 I used to think turkey bacon was gross, but now love it. I like to get the high Protein flatbread wraps....and wrap me up a turkey bacon BLT. To cook turkey bacon, lay it all out on a cookie sheet, give it a little spritz with cooking spray and pop it in the oven (directions on package).... The whole pan will get nice and crisp. Lock what you don't use immediately in an airtight container for use on other sandwiches, Breakfast, baked potatoes, salad, etc. Looking very forward to tasting that old favorite again. 1 momin2005 reacted to this

I have to run and check, but I think I have a no beef rule for the first 3 months? Can't remember since it's so far into the future? Thanks! Inquiring minds... And as far as turkey bacon goes...what part of the turkey does the turkey bacon come from? *scratches head and looks mystified and a little bit horrified* Edited December 11, 2017 by FluffyChix 1 bluetink50 reacted to this
DropWt4Life 957 Posted December 11, 2017 I would ask your doc, but I ate some crispy bacon at eight weeks out with no problems. I probably eat a slice or two every two or three weeks on a Saturday or Sunday. I don’t care too much for turkey bacon, so I would rather have the real thing and cut corners somewhere else. 4 Sosewsue61, bluetink50, FluffyChix and 1 other reacted to this

GassyGurl 428 Posted December 12, 2017 I could have regular texture meats on day 15. I tried half a pc of bacon with no issues. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app 3 bluetink50, Sosewsue61 and FluffyChix reacted to this

Sleevedincali 31 Posted December 20, 2017 I tried some crumbled bacon in my scrambled eggs at about 4 weeks and regretted it immediately. Tried again at 6 weeks and now I eat a piece almost every morning with my egg I think you have to keep trying and if it feels funny, move on and revisit...same happened to me with nuts. I am 8 weeks post op and eat nuts often 1 bluetink50 reacted to this
