Pauliegroup 26 Posted October 7, 2017 I'm 10 weeks post Gastric Sleeve surgery. I'd like to have a half-glass of Grapefruit juice. Anyone else enjoying or have suffered from pure grapefruit or orange juice?
Introversion 1,876 Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) You can have the juice... Nonetheless, just because you can have it doesn't mean you should. While juice is perceived as healthy, most juices have just as much sugar as soda. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/fruit-juice-is-just-as-bad-as-soda If you want orange juice, it's better to enjoy an orange. If you want grapefruit juice, enjoy an actual grapefruit instead. Due to the Fiber in fruit, the body's reaction to the fruit sugar is mitigated. In addition, it's a horrible idea to drink your calories so early in the game. fruit juice is empty calories: devoid of Protein, fiber, and healthy fat. It's a waste of time and space in your sleeve. FluffyChix 17,415 Posted October 8, 2017 Hey there, congrats on being on the other side. My surgeon said no more juice forevs. But you're in luck. Go order the Synthrax nectar grapefruit flavored Protein Powder. I swear it's as close to a "morning glass" of grapefruit juice you will experience! It's really delicious--one of my favorite flavors. And the good news is, it's almost or is zero carb/zero sugars + packs a Protein wallop. 3 Berry78, jennypenny1998 and TJS reacted to this
