WTF DID MY HUSBAND JUST SAY?

Recommended Posts

@hillnicole34 Ugh I know my sister said the easy way out. Recovery from surgery is not easy! Doing the liquid diet is not easy! After surgery, watching what you eat and being restricted and can only eat a few bites and not enjoy a meal like before is NOT easy! People who haven't struggled with weight or food addiction don't know just how much of a struggle it has been that led you to the decision to get this surgery. Ugh sorry you're going through that. Not having support from your significant other sucks.

Man, that dude is sad. He really doesn't have your back. How can someone who loves you actually talk like that? Easy way out....You know what is the easy way out?

Having a friggin metabolism that allows you to stay thin while eating burgers, fries, pizza, candy, etc.

Never having to look at the scale and decide, I'm only going to have Water instead of the friggin beer that everyone else will be drinking at the party.

As a matter of fact, the easy way out would be to say, "f** it! I don't care about my health. I don't care about my looks. I am just going to eat what I want, and drink what I want, and everyone can just Kiss My a**!"

Tell him that the next time he wants to be intimate, you already took the easy way out, and took care of yourself. Then tell him to do the same.

I'm a guy, and probably breaking man code, but damn!

@hillnicole34 glad to hear you got passed it. There were moments when my boyfriend was not supportive and other times that he was. But when he saw how strong I was after surgery and recovery, he commended me for that and apologized for the times he wasn't supportive because he realized just how much I needed his support in the moments when I was in pain, crying or struggling the first couple weeks post op.

Good luck to you and you're surgery! In the long run, you will be happy you made this choice.

I dont know what the original post was but if he said it was the easy way out - he is dead wrong. After my surgery I looked at my husband after vomiting violently right after having surgery on my stomach and told my husband "This is so hard - nobody ever tell me this is the easy way out cause this is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through."

They don't get it if they have not been through it. I mean my husband would not say that but I would say that my husband doesnt totally get it either cause it was not his body experiencing the pain.

Sorry you had a bad night with the hubby.

Yes Callisto that was his comment! He is usually so supportive as i stated before don’t know what was up with that! It really did make me feel some type of way[emoji19]! Hope everything has gotten better for you, i really don’t expect someone who never struggled with their weight to understand what we really fo through. Im in my 9th day of pre-op diet now definitely not the easy way out! Thank you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
