Sleeved in DFW :-) 61 Posted October 6, 2017 Just went to my 6 week post-op appointment and now sitting in my car crying. In the last 4 weeks I've lost 6 pounds. SIX! How is that possible? I can only eat 2 oz of food at a time and I eat 3 meals a day with two Snacks. Usually right at 1000 calories a day. I always eat Protein first. Mostly chicken and usually that is all I can eat but sometimes I add in some Tomato or olives. I get between 60-80 grams of protein a day with a Protein Shake for Breakfast and protein Water as well. I'm drinking my water and walking at lunch everyday. I even take the stairs to work now!! Im 45 years old and yes I was/am a low BMI and expected to lose slower than those with really high BMI but I never thought that meant 6 pounds in four weeks. I'm so angry. And my doctor is useless. I used him b/c my mom used him ten years ago but he's horrible and doesn't even let me ask questions. I tried to tell him that my stomach hurts every two hours and he just said sorry, head hunger. Ugh!!! I was a binge eater before surgery and a I want to binge so badly right now. I probably could too b/c absolutely no food has bothered me. At all. Sorry for rant. I'm just so disappointed, disgusted and angry with myself right now. Mytimenow17 99 Posted October 6, 2017 Bless your heart! Hang in there. I've heard of some people losing slow, but as long as it is coming off. Actually the slower it comes off the longer you will be able to keep it off. Just don't give up. Stay positive. Hugs! 3 Frustr8, Booandfrida and MarinaGirl reacted to this
woo woo 872 Posted October 6, 2017 Are you taking a ppi? If not, try it and see if it helps your hunger. Also, 6 pounds in a month is fine for lower bmi. The weight is going to come off slowly but steadily. It adds up!Sent from my SM-N910T using BariatricPal mobile app 6 ProudGrammy, chalcrow, Booandfrida and 3 others reacted to this

"Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying" HW 237 SW 226 CW 204 GW tbd If your stomach hurts every 2 hours, that is probably acid and you need to be on a PPI for at least the first 6 months until your body learns that your stomach is smaller. You said you are eating 1000 calories a day and 60-80 grams of protein. Protein is 4 calories a gram, that is 320 calories for 80 grams of protein. What else are you eating? What are your other macros? Fat? Carbs? 7 ProudGrammy, Christy P, jess9395 and 4 others reacted to this
Introversion 1,876 Posted October 6, 2017 You've lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks. I really don't see what the problem is. When is the last time you lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks? I conjecture the answer is, "Never." My surgery day weight was 218 pounds, so you and I started at nearly the same starting point. Most of my monthly losses were single digit (1 to 7 pounds a month). It took me 17 months to reach my goal weight. Although I was a slow loser, I'm dancing on a cloud because this is the first time I've been able to keep the weight off. It's not about how rapidly you lose. Rather, it's about keeping it off for life. Most of us could lose weight without surgery. Personally, I lost 200+ pounds in the 2 decades prior to surgery (lose 30, gain 50, lose 60, gain 90, rinse/repeat) but could never keep it off. You're doing well when the bigger picture is examined. Stay off the scale so often and don't ruin a wonderful weight loss tool with a binge episode. Good luck to you. You can do this. 18 1 ggfvsg, Mrs. Rob, teedsg and 16 others reacted to this

She said she lost 6 lbs in 4 weeks and is pretty bummed about it... rightly so, but OP you’ve got this! Use the tool and get out there and keep being busy! Slow is better... but I totally understand your disappointment 4 1 Sosewsue61, Sleeved in DFW :-), Frustr8 and 2 others reacted to this

The bigger picture is that she's lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks, which is pretty damned good for a lightweight who didn't start out with an extremely high BMI to begin with. Her surgery day weight was 226 pounds. 6 weeks later she weighs 204 pounds. 5 1 beingdina, teedsg, Frustr8 and 3 others reacted to this

OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted October 6, 2017 Your macros look great! I probably wouldn't waste calories on nuts and have some meat, but that is personal perference. Just keep it up the weight will come off. This is for life, it isn't a diet or a short term solution. Good luck! 5 Sosewsue61, ProudGrammy, GastricSleeve2018 and 2 others reacted to this
blizair09 3,250 Posted October 6, 2017 I'll echo what the other said, and add that you probably had the typical "three week stall" during this period of time. You probably didn't lose anything for a couple of weeks. Most of us went through that. Stalls suck, but they are more prevalent than periods of loss post-op (at least in my experience). The key is to keep to your plan, especially during these frustrating periods. The weight will come off, and you will get where you want to be. Good luck! 10 Christy P, OutsideMatchInside, chalcrow and 7 others reacted to this
