@Sleeved in DFW :-)
First, your respective is sound, you look vibrant, healthy...just lovely and full of life!
Second, congrats! Your hard work has already paid off.
Finally, you are correct. Age has a lot to do with this. At nearly 54, this post-op loss is much slower than post-op lap band at 42! :) Thankfully, I have far less to lose!

Add genpro to a apple sauce or sugar free pudding. It is 30 grams of Protein. U should only be eating 1/4 a cup to 1/2 a cup per serving (that is ur whole meal. I can only get 1/4 down. I do not get my protein in by meats only by genpro I can not eat enough. If u feel thirsty while eating u are full throw the stuff out. My Snacks are the apple sauce and sugar free pudding with the genpro. Like I said I get 400 calories a day. A 1000 calories is for someone trying to sustain there weight

Wow 4 weeks out and 1000 calories I can barely get 400. You are eating way to much.
I wish you had taken the time to actually read this post. It’s 10 months old now and there is an update from me right above your post. That aside, wow. Your post is rude and unhelpful. I am so glad no one responded this way when I posted this ten months ago. I received so much love and encouragement, advice and kindness. I guess that is not your style. While others lifted me up, you chose to do the opposite.
Quick piece of advice, if you are only eating 400 calories a day, you are going to have serious Hair loss and other issues with mal-nutrition. May be a good idea to discuss thoroughly with your doctor. Good luck to you.

Part of many sites and this is normal 4 weeks out and my surgeon says it’s normal 4 weeks out not much u calories u can get on baby food. He only wants u at 600 -700 cal. Until u hit a year which will be easier when u can have higher calories foods when ur stomach heals. My nutritionist says the same. So don’t bad mouth me when I following my surgeon recommended plan to a T to ensure I don’t eat through my stomach. I also have crohns and can have major tears in my stomach from my he healing process. But every person I know 4 weeks out try’s just to get there Protein in and I do get 100g a day through genpro. I take my Vitamins I do everything to a T. And if u go to the support groups they will tell her she eating to much for 4 weeks out. I am not allowed to touch a nut tell 8 weeks

Some of the posts (in relation to the stomach issues every four hours) have suggested PPI I’m curious if anyone had or has taken Ranitidine? my doctor said it’s suppose to be better than nexium. How true is this?

Also, to the original poster on this thread. You’ve come this far along you’re journey and probably doing awesome!

How are you feeling now since the surgery?

I’m due for mine in the middle of Aug

I am so impressed with your 61 lbs. loss and do understand the frustration of losing little to no weight when you're trying so hard. Allow yourself a break from the anxiety and frustration and focus on your happiness and health. Get out and walk (sunshine) , spend time with friends, doing something different - yoga, Pilates, bicycling, etc. This frustration will pass and the weight will continue to come off without falling into old habits. Be kind to yourself and let the healthy changes you've made work, no matter how slow at times - you are worth it!

I take Rantadine. It was prescribed as a liquid right after surgery, and after about a month I switched to a pill. It is OTC, and super inexpensive. It works for me.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
