renh 1 Posted October 5, 2017 i had gastric sleeve 10-4-17 yesterday. I was discharged today and gained 8 lbs! Is that normal? I am also having what I decribe as waves in my abdomen that can be relieved by standing up. Is that normal?
Shelo 21 Posted October 5, 2017 Yes, they gave you fluids and filled you with gas. My doctor said wait a few weeks before you start weigh-in yourself. Sent from my Z983 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 mzsantiago88 reacted to this

chele367 81 Posted October 5, 2017 Its the gas from the surgery its not your actual weight. Give yourself a week to stabilize and get the surgical gas out of your system. Walk every two hours to help eliminate it. At least this is the directive from Kaiser where I was sleeved. Just keep sticking to the program you'll be just fine and will be blown away at your new numbers in just a few weeks.
Berry78 4,261 Posted October 6, 2017 The weight gain is from IV fluids they gave you in the hospital. It'll go down over the first week or two. The "waves" are stomach spasms. Very common. 2 ProudGrammy and GeTnBackuP reacted to this
