1/3 pound a week - Should I be happy?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm about 30 pounds away from my goal and my weight loss has been very slow....EXTREMELY slow. But hey, it's going.

It's taken 3 weeks to lose 1 pound.

Does it slow down like this as the goal is approached or am I just hitting a plateau?

I'm at optimum restriction so a fill isn't in order.

Thanks for your advice as I'd like it to go faster, but don't want to complain.

It will slow down as you have less and less weight to lose.

Be happy about a pound in 3 weeks. Seriously! I've lost a pound in... like the last 4 months. Trust me, the grass is greener where you're at. :)

You've come so far, 1/3lb a week at so close to your goal is fabulous!! :)

How many times can you say you were so near goal from a diet, and you didn't start gaining?

When I stall (and I'm still so far out), I just do a little dance because I'm NOT gaining. I'm keeping that weight gone for good! That's a first in my life.

Yeah, I'd be happy with that now. I have about 10lb to go to my goal, and I'm well under the top limit of my healthy weight range. I'm definitely losing that slowy - well it averages out that slowly. In truth I go weeks without any loss at all and then suddenly 3lb will disappear overnight.

Oh - but I have to add - when I have periods of absolutely faultless eating and lots of exercise, it does start movingmore quickly again.

Like everyone above said, you are moving forward. That's a good thing.

Are you exercising as much as you can? Can you switch up what you are doing for something different? It might get your body to drop more quickly.

Just a thought.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
