I am almost two week post op band to bypass revision. Never nauseous. I can drink gulps with no problem. No restriction at all. Jello - could eat multiple servings. Is something wrong?

All of that just slides through your new stomach. You should feel it when you get to purees and dense Protein.

U can gulp Water? Like more than 1 gulp at a time? I cannot as my pouch fills up immediately. I agree with GassyGurl tho that u should feel restriction more with purees and denser foods.

That said, my plan says to eat based on the amount they tell u (2-4 oz), NOT based on how full u feel since u may not be full eating that small amount but u want to let ur pouch heal and not push it.

Bottom line, u should feel some sort of restriction, even with liquids. U havent felt the restriction yet at all? Maybe check in with the doc. I don't know if pouches can be made different sizes based on the suegeon or if its supposed to be standardized? For peace of mind...call the doc. I would.

It is common to do a little experimentation after surgery. That is how we learn. Some people can tolerate anything after surgery while others have problems and can tolerate very little. Weight loss is achieved during the short weight loss phase through meal volume control. The two operative words here are short and volume. So if you want to maximize your weight loss during this phase, you need to adhere to the program guidelines. I slid into the maintenance phase at 7 months.

How did u know, specifically, that u were in the maintenance phase?

I'm sure each plan is different, but we are considered in maintenance once we lose 75 % of excess weight, or hit 1 year.

restriction didn't really happen for me until purees (and only on some). keep in mind that nerves have been severed with the surgery. it may take a while for full feeling to come back...so stick to your portions and don't worry about it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
