I don't know what diet you are on they are somewhat different from what i have read here. for me 3 weeks out was a soft food week and fruit was not on the list. sorry to say that fruit juices break all the sugar rules i was told to follow so i am afraid i will never drink orange juice again and i LOVED orange juice. I know the early diet is mostly a mind game and i dont think i will ever eat Jello, pudding or broth again for as long as i live. try to keep real busy so your mind cant wander back to how it was before and in time you will get past this craving. I still avoid bakeries cause the smell of fresh bread does a serious number on me.

i just noticed your pre op sorry thought you were 3 weeks post op my bad. if your sugar is under control enjoy a piece of fruit.

Your plan should say what you are permitted. Is fruit on it?

If not, sugar free Jello or icees might help.

All depends on what your Dr or Dietitian said.. in my case post Op was:
2 weeks clear liquids
2 weeks smoochie foods
2 weeks soft foods
After 6 weeks I could eat anything....

At 3 weeks I don’t think is worth to eat fruit...since you can only tolerate 4 oz of food.. Maybe try sugar free apple juice or canned fruit (low in sugar), canned fruit it is soft and you can digest better.
Good luck

I'm 3 weeks out and I'm CRAVING fruit. Please tell me, can I eat fruit at all?

Around 3-4 weeks I was allowed rinsed canned fruit in Water. It was hard to find so I bought fruit in Syrup and just rinsed it more. Canned pears were my favorite. I just made sure the carbs fit into my daily macros. I’m 6 weeks out and eat an Asian pear daily, and frequently eat Korean melons and cantaloupe.

Our plan is generous, but we are only allowed stuff like apple sauce or soft canned fruits, added to yogurt starting week 3. Other than that, it's once we reach 75% of our weight loss (or 1 year) then after eating our Protein, we can have veggies. If still hungry in the 30 minute window, we can add a serving of fruit.< br>All plans are different!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
