Good luck to all the other November sleevers. You can do it. I slept for 12 hours post-op but so far I feel great and have been walking a lot. I have a little bowl of broth and a little cup of Water now.

Less than 24 hours post op. Gas pains are no joke!! I don't think i have much surgery pain, just gas/bloating. Hoping it passes soon! Do not remember a thing from surgery so that is a good thing. I'll keep you guys posted.

Recovery room after surgery was rough. I threw up a couple times which caused me to pee the bed. How mortifying. I was groggy and could not wake up. Slept for 12 hours. Once I woke up, I felt great.

Next morning. No site pain or gas pain for me. I'm sure it's because they got so much pain meds in me right now.

According to my tracker I walked 1.5 miles in laps around my ward last night. My mantra is walk walk walk... Other patients joined me that saw me walking so much. They said they felt guilty laying in bed. Apparently I inspired them.

The nurses earned their pay last night as I was calling them about every 45 minutes to get unhooked from everything to go pee. Between 11:30pm and 5 am.

I get a thimble of a Protein Shake today.

I hope my other Nov. 1 buddies are doing well and feeling good.

Big congrats to everyone who had 11/1 surgeries and are on the mend! Good luck to everyone on your pre-op diets, I know every surgeon is different so some of you really feel deprived and I hope it flies by.

I'm booked for 11/13! 11 days away now. Actually enjoying the regimented pre-op diet, it's keeping me organized and accountable. I'm having this weird anxiety that somehow something is going to go awry and they'll tell me "nevermind! you can't have surgery!" So many emotions.

Can't wait for more updates as the days pass and more of you have your procedures!

" timestamp="1509560287" uid="142306"] Thanks LylaLovesCoffee how is your pre-op diet going after a week now? How was giving up confusedturtle3?

When I thought I would be having surgery in October I went Decaf slowly and was fine. I immediately went back when I was scheduled for Nov 21st [emoji23]. Starting tomorrow I will start weaning myself off again, I do it slowly to avoid the Migraines but I always feel sluggish as my coffee has less and less caffeine in it. I have a Mr Latte maker (from Target) and I use 2 Protein Drinks per 11 oz of coffee, I carry it around all morning and sip on it. My NUT is ok with me replacing Breakfast and snack with it so I plan to continue but I doubt I’ll drink as much after surgery. Protein drinks are allowed on my pre-op diet so I plan to stick to it as long as I can. My pre-op diet starts on the 13th. So far so good [emoji1360]. how are you doing?

I'm doing pretty good. I had my pre admissions testing this morning. They took some blood and swabbed my nose. I asked them to get the itch that has been bugging me since allergy season started. They did what they could hahaha. Now all I have to do is show up on the 8th. Until then I guess I'll be playing on the emotional roller coaster hahaha.

Back home. Still feel bloated but had a bowel movement finally which helped. (Tmi?) Stomach feels strange. It is going to be a challenge to realize when your new stomach is full because i have so much going on down there anyway it is hard to decipher what is coming from where. Im sure it will get easier when my tummy calms down a bit. Feeling ok overall but going to be slow going this first week. Slight headache and low energy at the moment. Still super glad i did it and in a few months i will likely not even remember the tougher moments of recovery.

Welcome home! Sounds like you are doing just fine. With time it will only get better. The headache probably means you are not drinking enough liquid. You could be a little dehydrated. Remember sip sip sip.

I had a two week vacation planned for like a year before my surgery was even scheduled. In fact there surgery was scheduled for the first available spot afterwards so it was only 2 days after I returned home. So my big day actually rolled around pretty fast at the end!

Your day will be here before you know it. Good luck!

I think learning the new stomach and what it needs or doesn’t need will be a tough trick to learn. Glad you are feeling ok and I hope the headache and weakness resolves soon. [emoji177]

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
