Squeeeeeee it's almost time! Surgery date is on Nov. 1, 2017. My doctor had no pre-op diet other than 24 hours prior. I kind of started early by doing liquids/shakes for 2 meals a day plus one tiny real meal for the last 3 days. Tomorrow is all liquids/shakes. Good luck to all my November sisters and brothers!!!

So exciting! I just had my pre admin testing this morning. All set and ready to go! Just ordered some cheap slippers off Amazon to bring with me to the hospital. Oh and by the way - day 6 of this liquid only diet - OVER IT! This sucks. But I'm doing it! 9 more days and counting...!!!

You can do it! Best of luck!

November 7 for me too. I’m in IL. Tomorrow is my last day of regular food then I’m on the clear liquid diet until the 7th.

I don’t have to do Clear Liquids till the day before. Right now I’m allowed yogurt and cream Soups. But I also have to do a bowel prep, night before surgery.

It's really interesting how much the pre op diet varies from surgeon to surgeon. I'm only required to do no carbs for the first 4 days and then liquids for 3 days prior to surgery.

I'll count myself lucky to only have to do 3 days of liquid [emoji23]

I'm jealous! I have to do 14 days clear liquids! Only thing getting me through is the hard boiled egg whites I'm allowed. Tomorrow is the halfway point though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
