breprih 96 Posted October 2, 2017 Does anyone know if losing weight after insurance approval will cause any problems with surgery coverage? I was losing and then found out at my consultation that my BMI was too low so it's where it needs to be now but I see the surgeon tomorrow and they'll use that weight to submit to insurance. However, if approved I want to start losing before surgery but I don't want to mess things up.
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted October 2, 2017 Once you are approved, you are approved. I have never heard of anyone getting rejected once insurance gave the okay to schedule surgery. 1 breprih reacted to this

My BMI is currently 39 and I was told I have to go on a 4-month diet before surgery. I’m concerned that my BMI will be too low for surgery. I wonder what the cut off is? Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted October 13, 2017 Call/email your online insurance policy and ask. They will assign an 'intake specialist ' to answer your questions.
