FloridaGal1976 77 Posted October 1, 2017 How much time off work, realistically, should I ask for? I work in an office so not labor intensive at all. My husband's had the sleeve back in December. The wife took 4 days (she's a surgical technician) and her husband took a week (manual labor supervisor). Thanks for the help!
Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted October 1, 2017 I had surgery on a Tuesday and was back in the office on Monday. I'm a desk jockey. Depending on how well you handle anesthesia, you may want to schedule a full week or 10 days off.

My main concern is pain and fatigue. We're you exhausted much?
ZinNH 173 Posted October 2, 2017 I had surgery on a Tuesday and went back on Monday. I was fine, until around 1 pm, then I felt exhausted. It wasn't horrible though. I did take a nap after work every day of that first week back though. Just take it easy, and allow yourself the right to take more time off if you need it. Good luck! FLHappyGirl 171 Posted October 2, 2017 I had surgery on a Thursday and was home on Friday. Off all pain meds by Sunday. I took the a full week off and then worked from home the next week. I probably could have made it back to work if I had to but being able to take breaks and lie down for a few minutes was super helpful. My biggest challenge was the fatigue which gets a little better each week. Good luck!
