Stalls happen to everyone, and not eating will make it worse.

Keep in mind this journey is about finding your health, not starving yourself!

Your doctor gave you a diet to follow. Please do so. Even though you don't need as many calories, you still need Protein and Vitamins, etc.

If you are having thoughts of hurting yourself, please contact your doctor or go to the ER.

Are you tracking what you eat and drink? I use MyFitnessPal's website, mostly to make sure I get enough Protein. However, the daily numbers include calories. At this stage (I'm a month post-op), I can feel that I'm eating quite a lot and still have between 600 and 700 calories for the day. I've stalled a bit, but I KNOW at these calorie levels I'll be losing weight soon enough--in fact, the site tells me every day that I'm not eating enough calories!

www.myfitnesspal.com is a website and app that allows you to keep track of what you eat and drink (as well as exercise and such if you like); it gives a breakdown for each food item of calories, fat, carbs, Protein, sodium, and sugar. There are daily totals for each category. You can, if you like, set up daily goals and it will tell you how much is left in each category to meet the goal. Very useful!

My NUT said that not eating is more detrimental to your health and over-all weight loss and wanted me to get back to getting my nutrition through food as quickly as possible. It's scary, the thought of gaining the weight back but stalls are normal and usually I have to increase my intake to break a stall. Take it day by day and make good/healthy choices.

Now I'm curious--at just over a month post-op, what should my calorie count be? I can't eat more than I do at this point, and I haven't been given any calorie guidelines, I don't believe. But what I'm getting seems to be about normal for people at my stage. What should I be getting--and how?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
